In 2015 he made the President’s 100, and was on the High Civilian two man team in the Hearst Doubles match at Camp Perry. He has earned several state, regional and national medals. Mike earned a Master classification for Long Range Prone in his very first match. His long term goals for shooting are to earn his High Master in Long Range and Master in Smallbore Prone. Mike’s powder of choice is Varget for his Service Rifle and Palma gun pushing Sierra bullets.
Mike’s first firearm was a single shot 12 ga that his bother bought him when he was 8 years old. In Junior High and High School Mike shot on a rifle team that his dad coached – “We had 6 Remington 513T’s and 40X rifles in the gun cabinet and all the ammo that I could shoot. Wow!!!” A young boy was hooked into the firearms industry and was then able to pass it on when he had his own kids, coaching his oldest son and their team, including taking them to Camp Perry to shoot the National Championships. Mike says “You need to set yourself up with small, obtainable goals for yourself and to remember that you are your biggest competitor and, eventually, everything will just become automatic.”
